Workshop Details

This course will help you understand the importance of physical activity in the early years, to develop confidence to extend the physical activity opportunities within the setting, to create an inspiring environment where children can engage and learn, to understand that Creative planning can elicit excellent responses and engage children by using a range of stimuli to inspire learning and learners & to provide attendees with confidence in the areas of dance/ movement/ singing/ music.

The workshop attendees will

  • Understand how movement storytelling is an ideal platform for language acquisition and imaginative play

  • How music is a foundation for speech processing

  • learn how to use music to create and develop stories and tales

  • delegates will see how a range of stimuli can support storytelling 

  • Reflect on brain/body connectivity

  • understand the power of music on motivation

  • reflection on practice.

  • discover how affordances promote experiential learning

Helen Battelley is an internationally renowned consultant, trainer and speaker in Physical Development/movement in Early Education. Her training style is energetic, passionate and highly motivational. She has been working as a dance and movement specialist for over 19 years and continues to work directly with children.
